[focused on] seniors | night and day

One of the great things about shooting seniors is that you can really play up their personalities and interests, which often means instant variety. This great session is from JamieY Photography.

The Story:


This is my 2nd senior session ever, and my first session with a rep. I hear a lot of other photographers have great results using Senior reps so I wanted to try it out this year. The girl, Savanah, is actually a daughter of a friend. I was super excited to find out that she was going to be a senior this year, and even more excited when she said she was interested in being a rep for me. She is such a beautiful girl, she reminds me of Miley Cyrus in a way, but even more beautiful. When we discussed the themes for her shoot there were 2 basic ideas. The first being bohemian/hippy, which is how she usually dresses. I knew of a perfect place that had lots of nature to go with the outfit and some old buildings and things to use as props. Vegas doesn't have much in the way of pretty nature, so you definitely have to go to one of the places in the mountains to get it. The next idea was more of just a modern trendy outfit to go with her trade at school which is hair cutting. I knew the perfect place for this, our downtown arts district with lots of buildings and graffiti. Using some off camera flash helped to bring a fashion type look to those images. Savanah was such a beautiful model and so happy and fun. Seniors are definitely something I hope to photograph more of.
