Trash the dress - fashion - wedding inspired and cool vibed - we love this feature from Schona Kessler Photography

The Story:
Let me start with how I have always loved the whole Trash the dress concept since the first time I heard about it on Flickr.

Katie and I had been planning to do a trash the dress session for a couple months now and finally the weather out here in Washington state decided to cooperate for a few days.
She had wanted a friend to come along but by the time we scheduled the session her dear friend had moved south.  Luckily another wonderful friend was anxious to join in on the fun that day and boy did they rock it! They showed up and without even planning, brought the same style dresses in opposite colors which
made me think of the movie, "Black Swan."

I knew I wanted to shoot in some tall grass so we headed out towards the Columbia river and I found just the perfect spot. The natural light was beautiful in the shade but I used my Alienbee 800 watt off camera flash in a softbox umbrella for a lot of the photos as well to get the look I wanted. We were starting to leave so the girls were changing their dresses to get a different look for the next location and while I was waiting in my car I saw an old 1959 Ford pull up and I knew I had to ask if we could shoot a few in it.  The owner was glad to use us use his awesome car for our shoot and those are some of my faves from the session. The red tired matched the girls heels perfectly! Couldn't have planned it any better!

We then drove down into the industrial part of town for some urban type shots. I found this old building and just loved it. People were inside with the lights on but that didn't bother
us at all. It started getting dark as the sun was setting quickly by this time. We hopped in our cars and drove down a few blocks where I saw another old building with tons of great features so we stopped again.  Katie put on her wedding dress and we got some more rockin' portraits in the dark.

The entire session was just full of fun and laughter just how each session should be.
Now I can't wait for another Trash the dress shoot. Hurry people !!!  :)
